5 Reasons Why You Should Play In the Hunt
Reason 1: The controls and multi-directional shooting mechanics
The controlling is good, some may feel the sub doesn’t move as fast but it is a sub under water so keep that in mind. The shooting doesn’t respond slow though and the mechanics you are shooting missiles in front of you while also shooting above you and dropping bombs under you. If you play the game in PlayStation mode you get to use a shield but if you play in arcade mode the shield is omitted. What I did was just keep hitting both weapon buttons every single inch that I moved. I didn’t stop because there are so many enemies after you, its pretty unforgiving! The cool thing is that there are special weapons you can get, which can really help you out. You just have to try not to get hit so much.
Reason 2: It is a short, accessible, yet rewarding challenge
It’s a fun game. It is short, challenging, but not impossible. I kept playing it on my own back then, and I eventually beat it, but I didn’t remember doing so. I honestly thought I had never beaten it until recently. When I beat it, I was like, oh yeah, I do remember the ending. I do remember the final boss.
Reason 3: Thrilling local couch co-op with friends or family
Games like this are pretty fun. You just sit on the couch with one of your siblings or a buddy and go at it for an hour or so, helping each other out and screaming at the TV. It’s a lot of fun.
Reason 4: Authentic 1990s retro gaming nostalgia
It brings back that joy of the ’90s where you would just play on a weekend, get a bunch of snacks, and your mom would order pizza. Those were the days; that’s when gaming was pure fun. When I play this game or any other retro game, I remember those times and I truly miss them.
Reason 5: High replay value just for the pure fun of it
I thought it was great and tons of fun. It is a short, sweet game. Would I pick up the controller again after beating it recently? Yeah, just for kicks and giggles, I definitely would.
My final thoughts
In my opinion this game is a classic even though it may not be perfect, it gives you that challenging arcade feel with catchy music and amazing pixel art. I hope you guys give this a try if you haven’t, but if you have please let me know your thoughts.
